Darabont: ‘The Walking Dead’ Will Have "Plenty of Gore"

Last weekend at Comic-Con, one of the big stars was The Walking Dead, AMC’s new zombie series that is set to premiere in October. The subject of zombies has never really permeated American television in the way that, say, vampires have, but The Walking Dead might just bring the age-old genre to the screens in a big way. But don’t think that it’ll be toned down because it’s on television. No, much like True Blood has been bringing the gore with its third season, executive producer Frank Darabont assured fans at Comic-Con that the gore on the show would be plenty enough to “satisfy hardcore zombie fans.”

Doctor Who’s fifth season has been a bit of a quandry for some fans, but not for me. While some found the season to be uneven and otherwise lesser in quality, I found it to be a well-written, well-acted series, for the most part — that is, if you axed “Victory of the Daleks,” one of the worst episodes the show has had since 2005.
Who Should Win Bravo’s ‘Work of Art’

I’ll make no secret about it; I hate reality television. I don’t even watch American Idol anymore, because I find it very… I don’t know, false. And that’s exactly what Work of Art is. Like other talent-based reality shows, it promises “the next great;” in this case, “the next great artist.” And of course, there’s no use in believing that — the next Andy Warhol won’t emerge from a Bravo television series.

This article is the first in a series of hopefully many articles of its kind. The premise of “Should-Be TV” is simple, so I won’t waste too much time with it. Here at TVOvermind, we love entertainment in all forms (though of course, television does take the cake). With this series of articles, we’re going to be taking a look at non-television stories we like, which we think would make absolutely stellar television. That extends anywhere from movies to comic books, from real-world events to fictional novels.

In 2004, Lloyd Braun was fired by ABC after greenlighting Desperate Housewives, Grey’s Anatomy, and LOST. Disney Executives fired him because of LOST, which he had greenlit with no actual script (only an outline). The $11.5 million pilot episode was the most expensive in television history, and it was presumed by the execs that it would be a massive failure. (Braun was later given a homage by Damon Lindelof and Carlton Cuse — he became the “Previously on LOST” voice). So Braun got the axe and was replaced by Stephen McPherson, who in turn got to ride on the popularity of shows that Braun had begun.
Pretty Little Liars 1.08 "Please Talk About Me When I’m Gone" Recap

So this week’s Pretty Little Liars brought some type of closure for the girls, but set the stage up for more crap to hit the fan and more suspects to enter the fray. Plus, each of our Liars all reminisced about a certain day with Alison, where she showed all different sides of herself in one setting… a setting that I feel has more meaning to it than we are led to believe. Plus, we are introduced to two more young potential suitors for the girls who will make the female persuasion swoon, while giving me a headache from trying to keep up with them all.
