Fast National ratings for Thursday, March 25, 2010
The NCAA Basketball Tournament once again scored Thursday night against the scripted competition, although the return of “Grey’s Anatomy” held up well enough against the sports coverage. The CW’s return of “The Vampire Diaries” was a little less healthy than expected, and “FlashForward” continued to disappoint in its second outing since returning from hiatus.
CBS averaged 11.1 million viewers and a 6.9 rating/12 share in households for the night. ABC took second with 8.8 million and 5.8/10. Next came NBC with 6.02 million and a 3.8/6, FOX with 5.1 million and 3.2/5 and The CW, 3.1 million and 1.8/3.
The adult 18-49 demo title also went to CBS, which nabbed a 3.8 rating. ABC followed with a 2.8, then NBC, 2.6, The CW, 1.4, and FOX, 1.3.
Thursday’s hourly numbers:
8 p.m.
CBS: NCAA Basketball (10.9 million, 6.7/11 households)
ABC: “FlashForward” (6.2 million, 4.1/7)
FOX: “Bones” rerun (6.1 million viewers, 3.9/7)
NBC: “Community” (5.1 million, 3.3/6)
