Best of Super Bowl 2010 ads: Betty White, Abe Vigoda take the field and more

The Super Bowl XLIV showdown between the New Orleans Saints and Indianapolis Colts is all well and good, but what about the commercials?
Super Bowl ad spots cost top dollar so they had better be good.
Check out some of the 2010 Super Bowl’s greatest hits, then go take a look at some of the worst ads:
Betty White, Abe Vigoda take the field for Snickers
This gets a big thumbs up from us. Betty White is awesome, particularly on “That’s not what your girlfriend said.” And what an unexpected cameo by Abe Vigoda at the end. We weren’t entirely sure Abe was still alive, so good to know!
Dave, Oprah … and Jay?
We just developed a bit more respect for Jay Leno. David Letterman and Oprah Winfrey reprised their Super Bowl ad from a couple years ago where they sit on the couch and enjoy the Super Bowl. Except Dave doesn’t seem happy.
“This is the worst Super Bowl party ever,” he mopes. Pan to …Leno: “He’s just saying that because I’m here.”
Here’s the thing: It’s a promo for “The Late Show” on CBS. You know, the show Jay will soon be competing against? Way to bite the hand that feeds you, Leno. Well played.
Brett Favre, Super Bowl LIV MVP
There’s something about a gray(er)-haired 50-year-old Brett Favre accepting a hologram MVP trophy that makes us giggle. The will-he-or-won’t-he-retire schtick is a little old, but overall that was a solid outing.
Wait, what was it a commercial for? Hyundai? Huh. We had no idea until we rewatched. That is a tricky part of making the commercials. Don’t let the joke overshadow the product.
