The CW will use the return of “America’s Next Top Model” to help launch two new reality shows in March.
The first two episodes of “Top Model’s” 14th cycle will run 90 minutes each and lead into “High Society,” a show starring New York socialite Tinsley Mortimer — we’re bummed the network didn’t keep its rumored title, “I’m Tinsley Mortimer and You’re Not.” “Fly Girls,” which follows flight attendants for Virgin America Airlines, will join the party later in March.
“Top Model” will open Wednesday, March 10 (a change from its previously announced two-hour debut on March 3), with “High Society” following at 9:30. The schedule will repeat the following week, and starting March 24, “Top Model” will scale back to its usual hour running time, with “High Society” at 9 and “Fly Girls” at 9:30.
The next “Top Model” will return to its usual tall-girl format after giving models under 5-foot-7 a shot in the fall. It will also welcome a new judge in Vogue editor-at-large Andre Leon Talley, who will join Tyra Banks, Nigel Barker and a guest judge each week. J. Alexander will move away from the judges’ table and take on a mentoring role with the contestants.
The 14 contestants for cycle 14 of “ANTM” are:
- Brenda, 23, an administrative assistant from Houston.
- Alasia, 18, a student from Marietta, Ga.
- Naduah, 22, a full-time mom from San Diego.
- Raina, 22, a student from Minnetonka, Minn.
- Tatianna, 21, a student from Ewa Beach, Hawaii
- Gabrielle, 18, a student from St. Louis.
- Simone, 19, a student from Lenexa, Kan.
